Directing

Having explored and established expertise in different genres of photography there was a natural evolution for Dean to work with moving imagery. His first opportunity with Directing came with an offer of joining the film production company Vermilion to direct TV commercials for Hotpoint through Team Saatchi, the sister company of Saatchi & Saatchi. This was followed by a script from Saatchi & Saatchi, to direct a cinema commercial for UNHCR.

To inform himself as a Director in the technicalities of film making Dean has embraced various disciplines such as: Dolly Grip, Floatcam operator, DoP and 1st AD. Experience in these roles was gained working with accomplished artists (including Jane & Louise Wilson, Turner prize nominees, Gaëlle Denis, BAFTA winning director),  in the making of fine art shorts.

News

Dean is working on the development of a film script by a BAFTA winning writer to make his first short film as a film director.
